Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Learn how to request resources from other libraries via ILL.

Overview

Dunwoody community members can use interlibrary loan (ILL) to request resources held by other libraries.

Before placing an ILL request, consider asking library staff to acquire a copy of the title for the Dunwoody collection.

To place an ILL request for books, articles, and electronic resources, choose the appropriate instructions from the options on the left, according to the type of resource you want to request.

This guide is most useful for requesting resources that you have already verified are not available in the Dunwoody library, rather than searching for and discovering resources. For tips on searching and finding resources, see our guides on searching for articles and searching for books [coming soon].

Request fulfillment

You will receive an email from the Learning Commons when your request is available. Most articles will be attached to that email. Books and other physical materials can be picked up in the Learning Commons.

If your request cannot be fulfilled, you will receive an email from the Learning Commons.

Check request status

In LaunchPad, open the Library Resources folder and select Library Catalog. If your name is not displayed on the top left corner of the screen, select Sign In to log in to your account.

Select your name to open a drop-down menu, then select My Requests. Your current requests and their statuses will appear on a list.
